My Version of Bulletproof Coffee

Happy Labor Day! I wanted to share what I drink pretty much every single morning with you. It keeps me sharp in the morning and keeps me full until at least 12pm, if not longer.

It’s my version of bulletproof coffee which, unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard of before. This version of coffee is basically made up of healthy fats and caffeine that can keep you going all morning long. Your energy level will never feel better.

Recipe :
1 cup of freshly brewed coffee {I use Lavazza Super Crema Espresso}
1 tbsp grass-fed butter or GHEE
1 tbsp MCT Oil {or coconut oil in a pinch)
Optional : 1 dash of honey

Combine all of the above items in a blender cup {we use a Nutri Ninja Auto-iQ Blender} and blend for about 20 secs. Pour into your favorite coffee cup. Enjoy.

When you combine the butter and oil with the caffeine from the coffee, it helps to slowly release the caffeine throughout your morning. This is why you will feel so energized. There is NO mid-morning crash. YAS!

Benefits of Bulletproof Coffee :

-increase brain function

-activate metabolism

-burn stubborn fat

-slow release of caffeine

-zero carbs means zero sugar spikes followed by a crash

-suppress hunger

-better workout in the morning

It may be hard at first for you to give up your breakfast in the morning for this coffee, but try it for an entire week. Your body will get used to it.  At the end of the week, check in to see how you are feeling. If you feel as amazing as I do, you will stick with it. I gave up my usual breakfast about a year ago and haven’t looked back…I look forward to my cup of coffee every day.

It may sound gross to you…fat in your coffee..but I promise that after blended, it looks and tastes just like an amazing, yummy latte.

Give it a try and let me know what you think!

We spent the weekend at the lake house with the kids and had a wonderful time. I’m worn out though and will definitely be hitting the sack early tonight. I hope you all had a great weekend as well.

XOXO – Sara
