Instant Pot Recipe : Spaghetti Squash

Happy Monday! It’s been a busy day getting back to the grind after Chicago. I succeeded in getting lots of snuggles from the kids, work out done, and I got the house re-stocked with groceries. Success!

I found a new recipe to test out on our new Instant Pot. I’m a huge fan of pasta, but after Chicago I need to stick with the healthy version…enter Spaghetti Squash.

The Instant Pot really is awesome…I made this entire recipe only getting ONE pot dirty..woohoo! It’s also super easy to use once you get the hang of all of the features.

8:7 3When I purchased it, I didn’t even realize that you could sauté hamburger just like on the stove…love that feature.

Here’s what I did below to make a fast, easy, not to mention {healthy} meal all in about 30 minutes.

Ingredients :
1 lb of 93% lean hamburger
1 onion chopped
4 cloves of garlic chopped
salt
pepper
1 28ou can of crushed tomatoes
1 bay leaf
1 3lb Spaghetti Squash
Parmasean Cheese {optional}

How To :
-Turn Insta Pot to Sauté
-Brown Hamburger with Onion, Garlic, Salt, & Pepper
-Add Tomatoes & Bay Leaf
-Poke Holes In Spaghetti Squash
-Place Squash on Top Of Sauce
-Put Lid On & Lock
-Choose Meat/Stew & High Pressure
-Select 15 Minutes
-Let Steam Release After Times Up
-Carefully Remove Spaghetti Squash When Cooled Down A Bit
-Cut in Half Length Wise & Remove Seeds Inside
-Use Fork To Remove Spaghetti Squash
-Add Sauce & Cheese {optional}
-Enjoy!

As you can see, this meal was super easy and delicious.  I personally like to put a larger meat to squash ratio, but just do small portion.  If you have kids, it’s always an option to make actual spaghetti on the stove for them in replacement of the squash.

An amateur can easily pull this off and it will make you look like a pro.
